Behind The Care...
A proud member of the Ontario Kinesiology Association and a Registered Kinesiologist with the College of Kinesiologists of Ontario, Malani Missir, brings over 25 years of experience in chronic disease management, cardiac rehabilitation, and vascular rehabilitation. Embracing her Indo–West Indian heritage, she approaches health promotion with deep cultural competence and a sensitivity to individual norms and values, ensuring that care is both effective and inclusive.

Her practice spans a diverse range of settings — including work with the City, accredited hospitals, and a leading sports academy — where she helps bridge the gap between preventive health, rehabilitation, and performance optimization. Her work focuses on implementing individualized exercise prescriptions tailored to each patient’s unique co-morbidities, blending science with a realistic, patient-centered approach.

As an educator and health promoter, she delivers engaging sessions on topics such as exercise and dietary guidelines, stress management techniques, body composition analysis, risk factor modification, and healthy sleep practices. She collaborates extensively with allied health professionals to design and implement comprehensive health programs that address both the physical and psychosocial dimensions of wellness. Her experience also includes supporting individuals managing chronic mental health conditions through active therapy programs that foster both physical recovery and emotional resilience.

A respected public speaker and conference presenter, she has shared her expertise at major chronic disease management conferences, inspiring both professionals and patients to take empowered, sustainable steps toward better health. Beyond her professional commitments, she is a proud mother of two boys and an advocate for balancing family and work life — modeling the very principles of health, balance, and well-being that she promotes in her practice.
